Frequently asked questions
Does my buyer pay more?
No. Your buyer pays the same amount on the same due date. Only the payee changes.
Will my buyer think my company is in financial difficulty?
Early payment is a standard tool in international trade. We provide a Japanese-language overview you can forward to your buyer, explaining that it costs them nothing and changes nothing in their payment terms.
How much does it cost?
A single discount fee, depending on the payment term and the buyer. You receive a quote for each invoice before you decide.
What if there is a dispute about the goods?
Commercial matters such as quality or delivery are resolved between you and your buyer under your existing sales contract.
What do I need to sign?
A tripartite master agreement (English–Japanese) between you, your buyer and Ascendport, signed electronically once.

What to prepare for the review
Buyer (Japanese importer)
- Proof the company exists (certificate of registered matters or equivalent)
- Financial statements for the last three fiscal years
- Identity verification for your contact person
Supplier (overseas counterparty)
- Proof the company exists (local registration or business licence equivalent)
- Evidence of your trading history with the buyer (past invoices and the like)
- Identity verification for your contact person
The programme rests on the buyer paying on the due date, so credit assessment is directed at the buyer; for the supplier we are confirming that the company and the trade are real. The exact documents may vary with the transaction.
How we handle your information
- All traffic is encrypted in transit.
- Access is restricted by role: a buyer sees only invoices addressed to it, a supplier only the ones it submitted.
- Uploaded invoice PDFs are held in non-public storage and shown only to entitled parties, through time-limited links.
- We do not provide the transaction information you entrust to us to anyone outside the parties to that transaction.
